This expression could easily be adapted to a current trend in data centres, namely physical data cabling connectivity.

A friend asked me recently what I thought about SaaS in the enterprise.

He has a budding startup and is looking at different models to sell his project management software to enterprise customers. He wanted to know whether it would be better to offer an on-premise solution or whether enterprises are sufficiently mature to adopt software as a service.
What followed, over a lunch, was a brainstorming session on SaaS and what are some of the concerns with using SaaS in the enterprise.
